Asie : 1e etape : Bali

Hello,

Premiere etape  6jours a Bali.

On y restera 2 jours.

Hello,

we finally took the road again !  For 2 months, we gonna travel.. but in Asia now and the first step was one week in Bali.

The "change of scene" is real, as expexted. As soon as arrived in the airport we drove to Pandangbai to catch a ferry. Well more extactly, one hour after looking for a taxi and obtaining a good bargain. And the request for all the mater (taxi, jewel etc) fuse from all side and are permanent all along the trip around bali. Some friends told us we gonna learn how to say "no".

After riding a fast boat for 2 hours we reached Gili Island (and stop at Gili Air) between Bali and Lombok. We stayed 2 days. Disapointed : it's just a tourist place with restaurants, bungalow and dive center put side by side one after the others. The water wich looks beautiful throw along the shore huge amounts of rubbish and plastic bags... However, the village in center of the island with all the local living there is more authentic and pleaseful.

Then Ubud : more in the center of Bali, we found a delighted homestay. Temples and rice fields around the town, we took a cycling tour to discover them and to understand a bit more the indonesian culture. It was also the opportunity to try some balenese massage and food and to attend to a traditional (fire and trace) danse. Well we didn't have enough  and wish to have more !!!

Plans for the future/Plans pour le future

Hello Hello,

Hello Dear Friends

So now we have to plan our trip to ASIA. Hopefully one nice german guy gave us the BIBLE Lonely Planet south east Asia so we are quite ready
We have only 2 poor little months.

Actually we thought that it would be easy to fly from Darwin because it's so close to ASIA BUT NO
Not at all it is harder. All the flights are from PERTH back on the west coast
So we had to chose between Airaisia and Jetstar yeahh big choice. So flying with both of them in the end and quite expensive
Anyway, we booked for the 5th of december destination BALI, where we will stay one week.
Then Phuket where we don't want to stay so we will hit the road (probaly by train) to KRABI (THAILAND) and the beautifull islands there like Ko Tao etc.
After, we want to spend our time in the north of Thailand less touristic and stay there all together 3 weeks

After Thailand we are going to Laos, very easy with visa and something totally exotic for us !!!
Couldn't ever imagine that one day I will go to that strange country called LAOS, where we have only 2 weeks
Than two weeks left, Vietnam, probably our choice between Combodia...

So yes guys here a brief route of ours for the next 2 month

For the moment we are working hard on saving money. It is not that easy here... but we can do IT YES
At the bar everything goes well, we met some cool people and we have more shifts as well

Australian life is still exciting for us and challenging, we are continiously thinking of what to do in the future and how to find a perfect job...

Thank you for reading us and suporting us
We love you all guys
Cheers from far north

Darwin

Here we are in Darwin, the tropical city, since the begining of october. The weather is very hot, avergae 30-32° C and the humidity is going up day after day. We are entering into the monsoon season.
With our Wombat the van we did south west, west coast and a little bit of Notherne Terretory in 2 month, so drove 12000 kms, not bad Huh!!!
After one week spent in hostel and camping, we left our german friends and now sharing a little flat with a young chinees guy (super nice). He is never at home, wich is good for us, we have the flat just for us.
Our new life rythme is totaly different du to our new job at BEACHFRONT Hotel, where we work as bartender thanks to the recomendation of our previous boss. We are now getting used to the bar and its rules and organization, totally different from Ceduna Foreshore.
For the moment we have several things to deal with : the VAN (service, thermostat, tyres,...)our plans for ASIA (tickets and visa) and other paper work related to Europe (taxes, road taxes, etc), not really exciting.
