Premiere etape 6jours a Bali.
On y restera 2 jours.

Hello,
we finally took the road again ! For 2 months, we gonna travel.. but in Asia now and the first step was one week in Bali.
The "change of scene" is real, as expexted. As soon as arrived in the airport we drove to Pandangbai to catch a ferry. Well more extactly, one hour after looking for a taxi and obtaining a good bargain. And the request for all the mater (taxi, jewel etc) fuse from all side and are permanent all along the trip around bali. Some friends told us we gonna learn how to say "no".
After riding a fast boat for 2 hours we reached Gili Island (and stop at Gili Air) between Bali and Lombok. We stayed 2 days. Disapointed : it's just a tourist place with restaurants, bungalow and dive center put side by side one after the others. The water wich looks beautiful throw along the shore huge amounts of rubbish and plastic bags... However, the village in center of the island with all the local living there is more authentic and pleaseful.
Then Ubud : more in the center of Bali, we found a delighted homestay. Temples and rice fields around the town, we took a cycling tour to discover them and to understand a bit more the indonesian culture. It was also the opportunity to try some balenese massage and food and to attend to a traditional (fire and trace) danse. Well we didn't have enough and wish to have more !!!

Bonne continuation,
Francesco de Liège,
